Cyrus Whittaker is an elite, multi-jurisdictional trial attorney licensed in California, Nevada, and Texas. His law firm is built on a foundation of unyielding grit as a first-generation attorney raised in a high-adversity environment. He has built Whittaker Law entirely himself from the ground up, while maintaining the philosophy that has guided his life from a young age: circumstances do not have to dictate the future. He leverages his unconventional background and prestigious pedigree—an undergraduate degree in Mathematics from the University of Washington and a Juris Doctor from the UCLA School of Law—to deploy a clinical, strategically aggressive, and relentless approach to litigation in order to fight for his clients.

Before establishing his firm, Mr. Whittaker honed his courtroom craft at premier defense firms and served as a criminal prosecutor with the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office. There, he completed the prestigious Academy of Justice trial-training program and successfully tried numerous high-stakes jury cases through verdict. This deep experience on both sides of the aisle—prosecution, defense, and plaintiff—equips him with rare tactical insights to anticipate and dismantle adversarial defense strategies at every phase of litigation. Recognized for his expertise, Mr. Whittaker is frequently retained by outside law firms to serve as lead trial counsel and Of Counsel on high-exposure, litigation-heavy matters.

 

Mr. Whittaker has tried more than twenty-five jury trials to verdict across civil and criminal courts. He also volunteered his time as an adjunct law professor at the People's College of Law, where he co-taught Federal Civil Procedure in 2021-2022.

Prior to entering the legal profession, Mr. Whittaker worked in project management and also spent over fifteen years as a private instructor, teaching advanced mathematics through college-level calculus and preparing candidates for advanced standardized examinations including the LSAT, GMAT, ACT, and GRE. This analytical background allows him to distill complex financial exposure metrics into clear, persuasive, and unassailable arguments before judges and juries.

Outside of the courtroom, Mr. Whittaker is a dedicated, long-time practitioner of Dutch-style kickboxing and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
